Elizabeth Kellogg Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ogden Kellogg
Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Ogden Kellogg, age 79, beloved wife of Raymond Kellogg of Shelton, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Derby, on June 12, 1943, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Svehlak) Ogden.
Betty became deaf at six months old after contracting spinal meningitis on Christmas Eve in 1943. She loved sharing memories of her childhood on her grandmother's farm in Monroe, feeding the chickens and hunting with her favorite uncle. After trying several deaf schools, she landed at Mystic Oral School for the Deaf in Mystic, CT where she met lifelong friends and the love of her life. She married Ray in April of 1962, a few years later settling in Trumbull, CT for the next 40 years and then moving to Shelton for the last 20 years to be closer to all her grandchildren. Betty spent much time socializing at various events and activities within the deaf community. Betty enjoyed being a homemaker, vegetable gardening, crafting hats, and following all the adventures of her grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband Ray of 60 years survivors include a son, Kevin Kellogg and his wife Karen, a daughter, Karen Kelley all of Shelton, a sister, Catherine Micci and her husband Gus, brother-in law Seeley and his wife Margaret, sister-in-law Roswitha Kellogg, five grandchildren, Brittany and Renee Kelley, Trevor, Lucas and Brady Kellogg as well as nieces and nephews, Michelle Predzimirski (Andy), Michael Micci, William Kellogg (Edith) and David Kellogg (Deanna). She was predeceased by a brother, George Ogden, brother-in-law David (Larry) Kellogg and a niece, Roswitha Craig.
All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
