Reichlen, Elizabeth J.
Elizabeth "Betty" J. Reichlen, age 93, of Stratford, died on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the widow of Warren A. Reichlen.
Betty Reichlen was born in Bergen, New Jersey to the late Charles and Sophia Diehl. She earned a baccalaureate degree from The College of St. Elizabeth's, Convent Station, NJ, Class of 1943.
She had been employed as a researcher for Celanese Corporation prior to raising her family.
Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and watching game shows on television. She was active with charities that supported the mentally challenged. Her enduring legacy will be the attention and love that she focused on her family.
She is survived by six beloved children, Jo-Ann Reichlen, of Trumbull, Thomas Reichlen of Milford, Harry Reichlen and his wife, Libby, of Moultonborough, NH., Warren Reichlen and his wife, Diane, of Andover, MA., Bruce Reichlen and his wife, Cathy, of Meredith, NH. and Mary Ann Reichlen and her husband, Jeff, of Stratford; eight grandchildren, Megan Reichlen DeLoach, Amy Reichlen Burnell, Michael Reichlen, Kristopher Reichlen, Scott Reichlen, Jaime Reichlen, Kristen Reichlen and Jeffrey Reichlen; three great-grandchildren, Eva DeLoach, Roselle DeLoach and Madison Reichlen; and several nieces and nephews. She had been predeceased by her son, Richard Reichlen; one sister, Joan Weinberger; and one brother, Charles A. Diehl, Jr.
Friends may call on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 9:00 am at St. James Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Thomas J. Lynch. A private interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to The Kennedy Center Inc., 2440 Reservoir Ave., Trumbull, CT 06611 would be greatly appreciated. MaryAnn, JoAnn and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I had the pleasure of knowing her for many years and she was a sweet and wonderful woman who gave so much time and energy to The Kennedy Center. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of her many friends here at Aria Stratford, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Betty will be remembered at the daily BINGO game where she was our quiet player but when she won, that purse quickly opened. We were blessed to have her with us.
