Eric Young Johnson, Pelican Bay, Daytona Beach, Florida. Born September 27, 1947, Berlin, Germany. Died: September 25, 2013, Daytona Beach, Florida. Son of Arthur W. and Bette S. Johnson. Attended Mount Hermon School (Gill, MA), and Yale University (New Haven, CT) Class of 1969. Lover of history, geopolitics, cultural exchange, travel, creative writing, Pittsburgh's Pirates and Steelers, motown songs and other soulful music. Long career in food products development and distribution with Procter and Gamble, Cincinnati, OH, and H.J. Heinz in Pittsburgh, PA and Brussels, Belgium. Resided many years in Sewickley, PA before moving to Florida. Founded Certified Pure Ingredients to produce organic fruits and vegetables in Chile for global exports. Joined Sunopta Foods in early 2000s, and established Organic Harvest LLC, an organic foods trading and business development company, in 2011. He is survived by his wife Paula M. Johnson of Daytona Beach, FL; his daughter Avery R. Forman, husband Monty, and children, Amory and Nina, of Brookline, MA; his son Nathaniel Y. Johnson, his wife Clare, and son Max, of Riverside, CT; his brother Paul Parker-Johnson, his wife Debbie, of Brookline, MA, and their daughters Rebecca A. Brocks, of Portland, ME, and Megan E. Parker-Johnson, of Jamaica Plain, MA; his step-mother Anne Hale Johnson of Bethesda, MD; his half-sister Joy S. Johnson of Denver, CO; his half-brother Randall H. Johnson of Comus, MD. Donations in his memory can be directed to the American Cancer Society, Small Cell Lung Cancer Research, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1728. A private service in Eric's memory will be held in Port Orange, FL on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
