Eric Martin Obituary
Eric M. Martin, age 61, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Monday June 9, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 35 years to Rosemarie (Hemond) Martin. Eric was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 23, 1953, the beloved son of Mary Jo (Boyle) Martin and the late Robert Martin. He was a graduate of Wethersfield High school where he excelled at athletics including football and track. Eric went on to graduate from Villanova University with a degree in Accounting. Eric started his career at the former Chesebrough Ponds and was presently a Financial Advisor and Senior Associate at Retirement Planning Partners.
Eric had an outgoing personality and all who knew him loved him. He had many interests including; Villanova basketball, The Beatles, and traveling. The major focus of his life, however, was his family. He is the beloved father to his three daughters; Erin Martin, Lauren (Martin) Tofolowsky and Kristen Martin, as well as his son-in-law Dan Tofolowsky. He is the cherished brother to Lisa Dickerman and her husband Brian. He is the loving uncle to Geoffrey Martin, and Sarah, Lindsay, and Sean Dickerman. He also leaves his Aunt, Dorothy Simon, his mother-in-law Fernande Hemond, and several loving cousins. Eric was predeceased by his father and his brother, Christopher Martin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 PM-7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to a charity of your choice. So sorry to hear of Eric's passing. He was always a friend that you wanted to be with, always laughing, always a person who could converse about anything. Will miss our Nova-UConn Mens BB bets and the ritual of paying off the winner each year. My best to rose and the girls and he will be in my mind and heart forever as a friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Eric's passing and the entire West family sends our condolences. I had the pleasure of working with Eric at Chesebrough-Pond's (Ragu') as well as performing with him in many of our business meeting skits and team events (as members of the "Not Ready for Ragu' Players). He had a huge heart, an infectious, upbeat personality and was respected and beloved by all who worked with him. His family and friends are all in our thoughts at this difficult time.

Eric's family--My sincere sympathy on your loss. I met Eric several years ago at a Hall of Fame Banquet at the Community Center for the Induction of a mutual friend. Again at the Marriott and back at the Community Center for his own team's Induction and at our fist Cottone Boys Reunion. In between we had a lot of emails and phone calls about high school football and sports. He was a unique guy and when we weren't talking sports, he talked about his family. He was proud of all of you. I was looking forward to seeing him this Fall for another Cottone Boys Reunion and Hall of Fame Banquet. There will be a large gap in the BS flying around without my friend Eric there. He was certainly one of a kind. We will all have good memories of a good guy with a big heart.

He was my boss @ Planned Parenthood of CT and was a warm and wonderful man. Always smiling and accomodating. He did his job well and quietly.
