Evelyn Kranak Wallace, age 82, of Fairfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Born in Bridgeport, she was a graduate of Stratford High School, Class of 1950. She spent the remainder of her life in Fairfield.
During her lifetime, she worked for Wallace Electric Supply, Ray Flanagan Plumbing, and subsequently retired as a Secretary in the Finance Department for the Town of Fairfield after many years of dedicated service.
Evelyn was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family and she always enjoyed cooking and baking. She was artistic, enjoyed ceramics and painting around the holidays. Treasured memories included visiting London for her 75th birthday and her trip to Sedona with her cousins.
Evelyn is survived by her devoted daughter, Kyle Fournier and her husband, Dave of Fairfield; three sons, Robert Wallace and his wife, Lindsay of Trumbull, Howard Wallace of Stratford and Lew Wallace and his wife, Karen of Stratford; five cherished grandchildren, Courtney Stefanowicz and her husband, Andrew of London, England, David Fournier of Fairfield and Kelly, Allison and Haley Wallace of Stratford; a step-grandson, Garrett Alston of Trumbull; cousins including her close cousin, William Skirkanich and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. Interment to follow in St. John's Cemetery in Stratford. Friends may greet her family on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
