Fernanda Faustini Obituary

FAUSTINI Fernanda Salati Faustini, age 72, of Milford, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at her home with her loving family and friends by her side. Born in Ripi, Province of Frosinone, Italy on January 20, 1938, she was the daughter of Giuseppina Pullo Salati of Milford and the late Remigio Salati. Along with her late husband and family, they operated Sante's Restaurant and then Aldario's Restaurant of Milford. In recent years, she took pride in working with her son-in-law Milanno at Gaetano's Deli of Stratford. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and throughout the United States, gardening, cooking and her many trips to the casino. But her true passion and love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and many dear friends. Fernanda was a hard working and devoted mother and grandmother who will be truly and deeply missed. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 30 years, Dario Faustini, a son Raymond Dario Faustini, father-in-law, Sante Faustini, two brothers-in-law, Albert Faustini and Rolando Trovini. In addition to her mother, survivors include a son Sante Faustini II and his wife Rosemary of Shelton; two daughters, Memi Csontos and her husband Michael of Shelton, and Diana Ukehaxhaj and her husband Milanno of Milford; a brother, Antonio Salati and his wife Paula of Milford; five grandchildren, Sante III and Ariana Faustini and Benjamin, Brandon and Briana Ukehaxhaj; her mother-in-law, Angela Faustini; sisters-in-law Margaret Faustini DeVellis and Kristina Trovini both of Milford; several nieces and nephews, as well as many family members in Italy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Saif and his staff at Yale Cancer Center, Hospice and Lend-A-Hand for the compassionate care given to Fernanda in her final days. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Milford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church Remembrance Fund, 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT 06460.
