Flavia Pinto Obituary
Flavia Alves Pinto, age 81, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Julio A. Pinto passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Vila do Conde, Vidago, Portugal on May 18, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Flavio and Maria Lopes Alves. Along with her family, they immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Bridgeport and most recently resided with her sister Marinha and brother-in-law Val in Shelton. Flavia was dedicated to her catholic faith and was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She volunteered countless hours and devoted help in any way the church needed. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt and loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Flavia will be truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two sisters, Belinha (Marinha) Baptista and her husband Val, and Clarinha Cardadeiro, a brother, Antonio Alves and his wife Lucy, sister-in-law, Donna Alves, nieces and nephews Daiana Baptista, Daniel Alves, Shana Alves and Sandra Carbadeiro, great-nieces and nephews, Tristan, Chloe, Sandy, Lucy, Leila, Terrance and Carolina. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph L. Alves, a niece Sandra Feliciano and brother-in-law, Manuel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 465 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.abriola.com.
