Francisco Vergel Obituary
Francisco Vergel, age 87, husband of Gladys Vergel of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at his home. He was a longtime resident of Bridgeport and enjoyed baseball, working on his cars and socializing with friends and family. He retired from Harvey Hubbell, after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Born in Oriente, Cuba on July 26, 1935, Francisco was a son of the late Francisco and Aurora Ibarra Vergel. In addition to his caring wife, Gladys, of 65 years, he leaves behind his two loving daughters, Norma Shaw of Milford, and Iliana Williams of New Canaan and four grandchildren, one deceased grandson and three great-grandchildren.
A private graveside ceremony and service will be held at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
