Frank Laska Obituary

LASKA Frank E. Laska, age 85, of Fairfield, devoted husband of 62 years to Josephine Meriano Laska, died peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2009 with his beloved wife at his side. Born in Three Rivers, Mass., he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Kilbasa Laska. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, he was a retired material handler and tool crib supervisor at E.I. Dupont for many years before retiring. A former caddy master for Brooklawn Country Club and the Smith Richardson Golf Course. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the medical detachment station at Camp David. A former member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Family Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. A former member of the American Legion Post 74 (Reef Road Fairfield), he was also honored by the Bridgeport Old Timers for his athletic abilities. Survivors in addition to his wife, are several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Laska Sr. and John Laska; and two sisters, Agnes Richtarich and Sally O'Neill. A special note of thanks to the staff at Ludlowe H.C.C, for the loving care they gave to Frank. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Internment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Commerce Hill-Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull Line). In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis , TN 38101-9929 in loving memory of Frank.
