George M. Lucas

LUCAS George M. Lucas, age 66 of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Francese (Fran) Carpenter. Lucas died peacefully Monday, September 1, 2008. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Julius and Mildred Lucas. A resident of Monroe since 1976, he was a graduate of Fairfield University, receiving a degree in engineering. He was an employee of Sikorsky Aircraft division of United Technologies for the past 18 years. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NY Yankees. A devoted father and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his children, Brenda Stan and husband, Richard of Bridgeport, Zina Rivera and husband, Luis of Shelton, Mona Edson and husband, Christopher of Milford and William Nadeau Lucas of Old Orchard, Maine; seven granddaughters; six grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Glen Lucas. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 12 noon in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
