Coach was the only man, other than my father, who I feared, admired and loved, all at the same time. Forty one years ago he "forced" me to run track at Trumbull HS. He punished us when we were wrong, always with a lesson learned. He taught us about PADS Pride, Attitude, Desire and Sacrifice. He was as proud as any parent when we did well. With Coach as my inspiration, I went on to coach 4 International Teams. A few years ago we sat next to each other at an FCIAC Bd. Of Directors meeting. Coach congratulated me on a recent appointment and then asked my advice on something. I still remember fondly how proud he was and how sincere he was in listening to my response. I pray that God makes at least a few more coaches like "Big Mac" to guide the youth of the future. God Bless you coach.
