Weindling, Gerd
Gerd Weindling, age 88 of Trumbull, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Mr. Weindling was born in Wurzburg, Germany, the son of the late Paul and Marion Weindling. Gerd served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from City College of New York, and worked for over 35 years as a Manager with GE Supply in Bridgeport. After retiring, Gerd volunteered at St. Vincent Medical Center as a Medicare Counselor, served several terms as the State Director and President of AARP, and served on the Board of Directors for the CT Commission on Aging. Mr. Weindling is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Myrna Weindling, his devoted sons, Keith Weindling of Orange, CT, Craig Weindling of Seattle, WA, his adored grandsons, Brian Weindling and his wife Rachel of Milford, MA, Mark Weindling and his wife Lauren of Quincy, MA, and by his cherished great-grandchildren, Ava Weindling, Zinnia Weindling, and Camden Weindling. Services will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM from Congregation B'nai Israel, 2710 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with interment following at the B'nai Israel Cemetery, Kings Highway, Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, www.cff.org, or to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.

I remember Gerd and Craig from the POLKA DOT PLAYHOUSE where we worked on several productions. A good man who gave the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

I worked with Gerd for many years at GE Supply. After moving to FL. I tried to visit him every time we came to Ct. I will miss our visits. May God be with Myrna at this time.
