Gregory Gosselin Obituary

GOSSELIN Gregory (Greg) F. Gosselin, age 50 of Stratford, the beloved son of Lorraine Baduini Gosselin, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital with his devoted family by his side. Greg was born in Bridgeport on November 20, 1960 and was a self-employed mechanic at the Post Parkway Service of Stratford for many years. In addition to his beloved mother, Lorraine of Fairfield, he is also survived by two brothers, David R. Gosselin and wife, Catherine and their two sons, Nicholas and Matthew of Sandy Hook, Michael E. Gosselin of Fairfield; one sister, Karen L. Gosselin of West Haven; and his aunt, Patricia (Pat) Gosselin. He was also predeceased by his father, Frank. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the 7th Floor nursing staff at Bridgeport Hospital and Greg's three angels, Keely Spada, Karen Davoli and Kimmy Capozziello who cared and comforted him throughout his illness as if he was a member of their own family. Greg was an ESP and SSP master shooter and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the country to shoot and attend S.O. matches. He accomplished the great honor of becoming the Chief Safety Officer and Range Master. In 2007, he traveled abroad to shoot in the European and Italian Championships where he was instrumental in bringing the New England Regionals back to Connecticut and starting the CT State Championship. Greg will always be remembered by his friend, Travis Yeknom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. Directly at Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery. Did Greg play football at Wakemans boys club in 1975 ? I just saw his name on a memorial site on Facebook. Sure looks like the right guy. He was a great guy and athlete. Sorry for his death. So young.

Greg will surely be missed. I have so many memories of Greg at the range and remember when he brought me to my first IDPA match years ago. My prayers go out for Greg's family during this difficult time.

We are so sad to hear about Greg's passing. We mostly knew him as an outstanding mechanic who we trusted to fix our vehicles and always deliver quality work at honest prices. Beyond that..and more importantly, Greg took time with our young son Dougie by sharing his wisdom about life in general and the importance of family. Even when our son got older and strayed from us, it was Greg who could talk to him and help him understand the error of his ways. There may be gentlemen out there that are as good as Greg, but we are absolutely sure there are none better. With our most sincere sorrow, Doug and Judy Doyle...Such a terrible loss for everyone who knew him.

To The Gosselin Family,
Greg was a great guy. He did alot of our towing and big repairs for us at at&t. He was one of the most honest and straight forward people I have ever met. He was always willing to help you if you needed it. I know everyone here that knew Greg will deeply miss him and will never forget his kidding around and making us laugh. He had a heart of gold that will be remembered always. It was an honor to have known such a good guy that many people never get lucky enough to have met. Our Prayers are with the Gosselin's and Greg you will be missed may God be lucky to have you by his side.

To Dave, Michael,Karen and family. I was shocked in the news of Gregs passing.I had'nt seen Greg in a while but will always remember his quick wit and the way he ALWAYS did the right thing. When I was in Connecticut last June for my dads funeral,I missed the chance to visit Greg due to time issues and am kicking myself for that.I learned a valuable lesson- stay in contact with the ones you love cause they might not be there tomarrow. My deepest condolances to the Gosslin family. R.I.P. Greg and god bless.

I am saddened to hear of Greg's passing, & may God's grace comfort you during this difficult time. We were classmates at Prep, until we had a nasty fight that I'm sure, changed the course of our educational experiences. 30 Years after that incident, we met as grown men and put it behind us. I'm glad we were able to make peace. R.I.P....Greg, you did well while you were here.

To the entire Gosslin Family,

Both my wife Dorothy Fitzgerald and I are saddened by the news of Greg's passing. Until we left Connnecticut last year to retire to Florida, every vehicle in our possession passed through PPS's shop. We are proud to think of Greg as a friend and will hold his memory close.

With much sympathy for your loss,

John Wood & Dorothy Fitzgerald

Dear Mrs. Gosselin and family,

We wish to express our most sincere condolences at this difficult time. Greg was a very special person, he was always kind to me and to others around him. He was never too busy to take a moment to see how you were. I knew him through my sister in law Kimmy. My husband, Russell, Kim's brother, thought the world of him. If our lives are a testimony to the way we touched and helped others, then be sure you are rich in that, for Greg did touch with compassion and warmth a brace of men and women alike. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Gosselin and family- I am so sad about Greg's passing. He was a remarkable man. Greg was our family mechanic for nearly 30 years. Over those year, Greg became my friend as well. I actually looked forward to bringing my car to "my mechanic" once I met Greg. He always spent time chatting and he always made me laugh! Even when I was paying lots of money for my repairs, I always left there with a smile on my face. In more recent years, we became good friends with lots to talk and laugh about whenever we crossed paths. He rarely felt sorry for himself and was a thoughful, honest and wonderful friend. I will truly miss him. He was selfless and wanted very little from life. Just to work, laugh and do the best he could for others. He achieved that tenfold. He spoke of his family often, always with much love and humor. I know he touched many lives and he will be sorely missed.

Lorraine, we extend our sympathies, thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this time of sorrow. Greg was a good man and a good neighbor, and always there to lend a helping hand.

Greg would often plow our driveway with his old Jeep after big snowstorms. He did this after putting in a twelve-hour day at the shop, and in addition to having to plow his own driveway. It was these kind deeds, which I'm sure Greg extended to all of those he knew and loved, that are a true measure of a person, and which will live in our memory.

Sincerely,
Doug and Rosemary Belfiore and Family

Dear Mrs. Gosselin, Dave, Mike and Karen:

We are so saddened to hear about Greg. We pray that you can find some peace in knowing that he is not suffering and find comfort in memories when you want most to touch him.

I, for one, will picture him cruising Heaven in his AMX, that silly 70's Van or his powder blue Lincoln. He can do whatever he wants now.
