I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Gus at Grey Direct, back in the late 90's and early 2000's. I have very fond memories of Gus. Whenever I worked late, you could rest assured, Gus was there too. Besides being so very talented, he was such a great guy. He will be missed.

Your "Happy Dinosaur" drawings hang in my son's bedroom and there are very few days they don't ask to take them down to view them closer and and ask me about my friend Gus who created them for me. You will never be forgotten in my household and you bring happiness to my little boys every day. I will miss your warm heart.

To his family, Gustavo was a devoted husband and father, and a loving son and brother. To us he was a good friend, allways happy, courteus, attentive, and friendly. I remember sharing his interest in photography and art. He was talented, dedicated, and hard working. He will be missed, but allways remembered fondly.

In a time when every day we find less role models in our society for our new generations to look up to..its a proud feeling to be able to look back and be thankful of the role models I had in my life..and one that clearly stands out is my Tio Gustavo. He encouraged me at an early age that there could be a future in translating my interest in comic books and cartoons to drawings on a sketch pad. I was probably just too young at the time to realize it. I watched him as he became a proud father of three boys. Raising them with love and at the same time with a sense of humor that you rarely find anymore. I knew that when it came time to start a family of my own I would carry some of this over, and I did. I will always remember the black and white photographs all over my room of myself as young child, and my dad always reminding me that it was my Tio Gustavo that took those photos. He was also one of the few that I could share with as a boy the latest news in the Marvel Universe and my collection of comics and toys. And of couse, who can forget Santa Claus and his Ho!Ho!Ho!! Tio Gustavo is now in a much better place than all of us..and I bet you that he's smiling down on us right now and laughing with that same unforgetable laugh that we will always carry in our hearts and remember him for. Rest in peace Tio Gustavo..on behalf of Oswaldo, my wife Erika and kids; Abigail, Ashley and Kaitlin.
