Harold Cotton Obituary

COTTON Harold A. Cotton Sr., age 95, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Helen Laufer Cotton, died on Sunday, October 9, 2005, at St. Joseph"s Manor. Harold was born in Bridgeport, and had been a Trumbull, resident all of his life. A retired contractor and developer, he was the former road superintendent for the Town of Trumbull until the late 1950"s. Harold was a member of the former Trumbull Exchange Club, Masonic Order Washington Lodge #19 Monroe, Trumbull Historical Society and an avid gardener. Survivors include a son, Harold A. Cotton Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Chesterfield, N.H.; a daughter, Cynthia Zargo and husband, William, of Trumbull; two grandchildren, Christopher Cotton and wife, Cyndy, of Brattleboro, Vt., and Jessica Cotton of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; two great-grandchildren, Finn and Chai Cotton; three nieces; three nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Pl., Trumbull, with the Rev. Elizabeth Schrader, Pastor of the Long Hill United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Masonic Ritual will be conducted at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Trumbull Historical Society, 1856 Huntington Tnpk, Trumbull, CT 06611 or to the American Red Cross, Katrina Relief Fund, 158 Brooklawn Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
