Harry Korchman Obituary

Harry Walter Korchman
March 1, 2023
Harry "Bud" Walter Korchman, age 88, of Fairfield, devoted husband to the late Anna Korchman the love of his life, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023. He is survived by his two sons and daughter, David, Alan, and Diane; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Meghan, and Thomas (Christiana); his siblings, Marge Burritt; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Anna, Harry was predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret Korchman; his siblings, Viola Burns, Irene Salik, Julius Korchman and wife Lillian, George Korchman, Robert Korchman and wife Joan and nephew Bruce Korchman.
Born in Bridgeport, Harry had been a longtime resident of Fairfield. He joined the U.S. Army, and was stationed for three years in Germany. After proudly serving his country, Harry owned a gas station/auto repair shop and then worked for Sturm Ruger for over 30 years as a machinist, before his retirement.
Harry met some of his greatest friends while being an avid bowler. He enjoyed bowling in the local leagues as well as the Amateur Bowling Tour, and also volunteered his time running the tour. One of his biggest accomplishments was bowling his first 300 game.
Harry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his granddaughters, Ali and Meg, which he truly adored and was known to them as "Paca". He was also extremely proud of his grandson, Thomas, who serves in the U.S. Airforce overseas.
Harry was a kind, gentle man who would always be willing to lend a hand to those in need. He always enjoyed a fun and entertaining day out at the casino. One of his favorite guilty pleasures was to have Szalonna year round, a Hungarian tradition to celebrate the harvest, this was always a big highlight for him since he loved being with his family.
Services will be held privately by the family.

I am sad to read Harry passed away. He and Ann spent many weekends with Denise, Marsha, and Frenchie running the ABT. Harry was a great man and I'm sure Ann welcomed him with open arms. May they rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Harry's passing. He and Ann spent every weekend at the ABT with Denise, Marsha and Frenchie. Ann helped in the office and Harry monitored the bowlers on the lanes. We had a lot of laughs over the years - Harry and Ann are back together and may they rest in peace
