Helen Varga Egeressy

EGERESSY Helen Varga Egeressy, age 97, of Fairfield, devoted widow of the late Paul Egeressy passed away on September 14, 2010 at the Carlton Convalescent Home. Born to Julia and John Varga in Bridgeport on July 15, 1913. She was a resident of Fairfield all but 11 years of her life. Helen was employed at Bridgeport Molded Products and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. She was a member of the Milford Seniors, Grasmere Eldercare, Calvin Seniors, Friendship Circle and the Mission Guild of the Calvin United Church formerly the Magyar Evangelical and Reformed Church which her parents were founders in 1926. She will be remembered by her family including two daughters, Barbara Gazdik, of Fairfield, Roberta Yatsinko, and her husband, Michael, of Lebanon, Tenn.; one son, David Egeressy, and his wife ,Gail, of New York State; her grandchildren, Leisa Gazdik of Milford, Wendy Wellington, and her husband, Robert, of Naugatuck, Jeffrey Gazdik, of Fairfield, Karen White, and her husband, James, of Trumbull, Timothy Gazdik, of Fairfield, Kevin Yatsinko and his wife, Jamey, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Carrie Spalin, of Hermitage Tenn., Sheri Strock, and her husband, Tyler, of LaFargeville, NY; her great grandchildren, Bryan White, Tyler Wellington, Dallas Yatsinko, Brandon White and Taylor Strock; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Timothy Gazdik and Leisa Gazdik for their time and devoted care of their grandmother. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Her funeral service is planned for Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Reverend Doctor Alexander Havadtoy officiating.
