Helen Olmstead Obituary

OLMSTEAD Helen Kent Sherwood Olmstead, age 92, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at the Wicke Health Care Center, Shelton. She was born February 1, 1913 in Bridgeport. Mrs. Olmstead graduated from Yale UniversityLs School of Music where she majored in piano performance. Mrs. Olmstead was a private piano teacher in Fairfield for 25 years. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Sherwood Olmstead of New Mexico; and twin grandsons, Adam of California and Benjamin of New York. She was predeceased by her older daughter, Rowena Kent Olmstead, who died in 1961. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Hillside Cemetery, Route 33, Wilton. The Dennis & DLArcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.

She was my sister and my piano teacher from fifth grade through high school and was a wonderful teacher and person. She meant much to our family. Bless you Helen.
