Mr. Manco was the greatest role model. I Had him as A 5th and 8th grade teacher. He not only taught us about scholastics, But taught us how to be upstanding citizens. He was a teacher that really cared.

Mr. Manco was also a teacher at Franklin School in Derby. He was one of the kindest and more memorable teachers that I had(1968)and there were quite a few. Franklin School was one of those old neighborhood schools were most students walked and everyone new everyone. He always had a firm hand but was fair and showed compassion to his students. And that love of teaching and for his students carried on long after you left Franklin School. If you were lucky enough to see him at any given time long after Franklin School he always had the time to talk to you and never failed to ask about your family whether it was the family you have now or members of your family when you were his student. Derby was very lucky to have such a devoted teacher and his family was very lucky to have such a great husband, father and grandfather. With great love, respect and sympathy. Laura (Testone) Wabno
