Inga-Lisa Lindgren Obituary

LINDGREN Inga-Lisa Maria Lindgren, of Kennebunk, formerly of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Janurary 22, 2011. She was the daughter of Adolf and Anna Ohlsson and the wife of Gosta Lindgren. Inga-Lisa was born in Fegen, Sweden on September 15, 1925. She married Gosta and had their first child, Bjorn before embarking to the United States in 1948. The family made their homes in Black Rock, Southport, and Fairfield, Connecticut. Their daughter, Donna was born and Inga-Lisa remained in Fairfield until her husband's death at which point she moved to Maine in 1988 to be with her daughter and her family. She was involved in various clubs and organizations during her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star and St. Marks Lutheran Church in Connecticut. She was very active in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kennebunk, Maine, volunteering for various functions including the church camps during the summer. Inga-Lisa was a very generous mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a hard-worker and always the one to help the elderly and less fortunate then her. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and she spent much time with them. She was very proud of all of them. She will be greatly missed by her family especially her grandchildren who were very close to their grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Gosta; her brothers, Karl-Ivar and Nils of Sweden, her granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth, her great-grandson, Ryan, and her son-in-law, David Goldsmith. She is survived by her son, Bjorn Lindgren and his wife Beverly of Houston, Texas and daughter, Donna Lindgren of Kennebunk. Her grandchildren, Kirsten Sharpe of Newtown, Erica Handy of North Carolina and Samantha of Houston; Andrew Goldsmith of Kennebunk and Scotty Goldsmith of Kennebunk. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, TJ, Amanda, Jillian, James and Matthew. Calling hours will be on Friday, January 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street in Kennebunk. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church located on the corner of Lord and Storer Streets in Kennebunk. Interment will be in the spring. Should friends desire, Inga-Lisa wishes you to donate to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2 Lord Street, Kennebunk, ME 04043, which gave her purpose and great joy during her life in Maine. My condolences to you on the loss of your mother. My dad was a good friend of your parents from Sweden and then in Connecticut. We lost our mom on January 4th of this year. We share your loss. God bless all of you.
