Irene T. Menard, age 99, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Donald R. Menard, passed away on February 16, 2026, in her home. Irene was born in Bridgeport on July 9, 1926, to the late Peter and Mary (Pallo) Kopchyak and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Harding High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart University. She retired from the Diocese of Bridgeport, where she worked as a librarian at Kolbe Cathedral High School. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and making handmade quilts. Survivors include her devoted sons, Kevin Menard and his wife Constance of Denton, Texas, and Keith Menard and his wife Marie of Stratford, 2 grandchildren, Noah and Ben Menard, 4 step-grandchildren, Renee (Greg) Domingue, Danielle Wade, Dennis Wade and his partner Shauna, and Ana Wade, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Irene was predeceased by an infant brother, Raymond, and brother, Richard Kopchyak and his wife Mary Ann.
