Ismael Portela Obituary
Ismael Portela, age 59 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 27, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Born in Pedrario, Portugal on April 5, 1955 he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Flores) Portela. He worked for the City of Bridgeport Sanitation Department for many years and was a member of the Vasco da Gama Social Club in Bridgeport. Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Jacinta M. Portela, his beloved children, Elizabeth Trujillo and husband Ernesto, and David Portela, one granddaughter, Jaylin Trujillo, a brother, Mario Portela, a sister, Netevidade Martins and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Artur Portela, and 5 brothers. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 9:00 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
