Jack Hillman Obituary

Jack E. Hillman, Sr.
Jack E. Hillman, Sr., age 84, of Oxford, the loving husband of 62 years to Dorothy Krill Hillman, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1936 and raised in Stickney, New Brunswick, Canada by the late Nelson and Ivy Perkins Hillman. At the age of 16, Jack moved to Connecticut with his family and graduated from Shelton High School as a member of the class of 1954. He was a proud veteran of the 418 Squadron of the Canadian Air force. Jack was the beloved owner and CEO of Precision Aerospace, Inc., which he started in Derby with only a handful of employees in 1972 before expanding his employee base and moving to Seymour in 1985. Precision Aerospace, Inc., is a manufacturer of close tolerance turned or milled metal components that are used worldwide in commercial and military aircraft and NASA rockets. Jack received many awards, but was most proud of the award given to him by Eaton Corporation for Global Recognition as Supplier of the Year in 2015. He earned that award with the help of his many dedicated employees which he considered family and was affectionately known as "Chief". Jack was a generous giver to many and a selfless man who dedicated his life to his family and work. Amongst his love of work, he was an avid fisherman and loved watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. Jack will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, Jack's loving family includes his son Jack, Jr. and his wife Rhonda Hillman of Seymour, his daughter Janice Hillman Forst and her husband John of Woodbury and his son Jeffrey (Jay) and his wife Heidi Hillman of Woodbury, his grandchildren, Jenelle, Jessica, Julianna, Jovanna, Jack Nelson, Chelsea, Hannah, Hunter, Ivy, Scarlett and Lauren and his great-grandchildren, Thomas Jack, Sean and Alec.
A Funeral Service in Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour will follow. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers or The Special Olympics.

What a terrible loss of a great man. I have worked with Jack as a representative of Eaton since 2005, but recently retired. Jack had a welcoming way about him I will never forget. My sincere condolences to family and friends of Jack.
