Jack McMahon
Jack Sherman McMahon, age 24, of Southport, passed away on August 28, 2017. He was the beloved son of James and Joan McMahon and brother to Henry and Grace. He is survived by his grandfather, James McMahon Sr., and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jack was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Barbara H. Sherman, maternal step-grandmother Nancy C. Sherman, paternal grandmother Marcia C. McMahon, maternal grandfather Robert Dean Sherman, and cousin Tara McMahon. Jack graduated from Fairfield Prep in 2011 and attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. Most recently he was employed at the Cardinal Sheehan Center in Bridgeport. Jack's interests and experiences include spending time on Lake George, trips to Wyoming, and a considerable time spent fishing in the Florida Keys with his family. Jack was also a talented golfer, which provided an opportunity to showcase his always-snappy attire. His passion in life was his many friends, and he truly valued them all. He will be remembered by his humor, thoughtfulness, and caring nature. Jack's love and kindness for others, especially his family and friends, will be an enduring memory. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, with his interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to: Ryan Charles Brennan Memorial Scholarship at Fairfield College Preparatory School, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 (www.fairfieldprep.org). I am so sorry for your loss and I want to send out my thoughts and prayers to everyone there today gathering to pay respects to Jack McMahon. May God rest Jacks soul and let him be at peace with Ryan Brennan now where they can get along and keep each other's company. I wish I could be there with everyone and am going to miss the best of times with Jack, my lifelong friend of mine.

My deepest sympathies; my Mom, your Aunt, often said there is nothing worse than outliving your own children. I feel your sorrow, and remember Jack as a happy young boy catching sunfish and his first bass at Grandpa Sherman's camp's dock. His spirit lives on.
