Capone, James A.
James Anthony Capone of Fairfield, CT quietly passed on March 13, 2015 surrounded by his family. James, son of Anthony and Theresa Capone of Philadelphia is survived by Margaret his loving wife of 57 years, his four daughters Lisa Capone and husband Thomas Barratt, Angela Capone-Rauscher and husband Robert, Maria Kivi and husband Hilar Kivi, Pamela Capone-LaManna and husband Vincent and granddaughter Pamela Kivi. James was born April 20th, 1931 in Camden, New Jersey, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a proud graduate of Penn State University. James Capone had a long and illustrious career in media which began at TV Guide in 1958. He went to work at the CBS and NBC TV affliliates in Philadelphia throughout the 1960's and 1970's working
closely with celebrities throughout the entertainment industry, including personalities such as Mike Douglas and Tom Snyder. James moved to Connecticut in the late 1970's where he was Director of Marketing at Timex. He later went on to start his own event marketing and consulting company. James was an avid reader, sports fan, jazz enthusiast and published cook. Jim had an active imagination and delighted friends and family with humorous drawings and cartoons that captured life's whimsical moments. His infectous personality, sense of humor and love of life left a lasting impression on all he met. He will be dearly missed. A memorial servive to celebrate his life will be planned in the coming months. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Pequot Library in Southport CT, one of Jim's favorite places.

There are so many different memories of Jim. One thing in particular that strikes me was his love of success. Not just for himself, but for others, even complete strangers. He would often bestow words of wisdom on those he met. I think he did this not because he thought he knew better, but that he genuinely liked to see people move ahead and succeed. He craved positive results even when they had no benefit to himself. Let's try to carry this humanity on to others in Jim's memory.

Our sincere sympathy on the passing of a wonderful man . We were very lucky to have shared some fun times and laughs. Remembering Jim and Glenn in their matching outfits at the fireworks .. Madras shorts and all. Keeping you all very close at heart during this difficult and sad time.
