James Linebarger Obituary

LINEBARGER James R. Linebarger, Sr. (W1CCS), age 80 of Shelton, entered into rest Thursday, June 18, 2009 in the West Haven Veteran's Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Jane Tybring Linebarger. Mr. Linebarger was born in Boise, Idaho, April 4, 1929, son of the late George F. and Mary Oliver Linebarger and was a Monroe resident for most of his life, also living in New York State for more than 20 years. Mr. Linebarger was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1951. He was the owner and operator of the former Bob's Hardware Store in Monroe for more than 25 years, until his retirement in 1989 and was employed with the Singer Metric's Company for more than 15 years. Mr. Linebarger was an avid user of Hand Radio's and belonged to several hand radio organizations. He was the beloved father of Miriam Steskla and her husband, Jack, Ronald J. Linebarger and his wife, Rosemarie, Jane A. Roller and her husband, Bob, Gail S. Sawicki and her husband, Frank, George F. Linebarger and his wife, Marcy, and the late James R. Linebarger, Jr. and Robert A. Linebarger. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jane Kilmer; 13 cherished grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Burial will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Thursday at 1 p.m. Please leave condolences to the family at www.riverviewfh.com .

You sir I will miss ...There is no one else I enjoyed sparring with more than you, You and Mom will always be my only in-laws. 35 years ago when I first met you I was scared to death of you but after a while I learned your bark was way worse than your bite. You always knew when we did wrong before we did I think. You are all on my mind and wish I could be there.

A father-in-law like no other ! There are not to many people in this world I will miss sparring with as I did you. Mom and You will always be my only in-laws... You always knew when any of us did wrong I think before we did. All of you are on my mind and I'm sorry I can't be there to say Good bye..
