James Patterson Obituary

PATTERSON James B. Patterson, Sr., age 85, of Bridgeport, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in McCormick, SC James had been a resident of Bridgeport for the past 57 years. He was a World War II veteran of the Army and was honorably discharged. He was employed 30 years by the French Cleaners as a dry cleaner. His wife Mary Lee Pullin Patterson, bothers, Ollie and Willie Patterson; and sisters, Mae Bell Hall, Queen E. Lee and Bessie L. Moore predeceased him. Survivors include a son, James (his wife Mary Jane) Patterson, Jr. of Bridgeport; a daughter, Shirley (her husband Lander) McCullough of Varginia; a sister, Mozelle Brown of Varginia; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Morton's Mortuary, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Brother Charles Jones, officiating. Interment will take place in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT with full military honors. Friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
