James Roberts Obituary

James M. Roberts
James Michael Roberts, age 55, beloved husband of nearly 18 years to Shelly Lynn (Clymer) Roberts of Naugatuck entered peaceful rest on Aug. 28, 2021. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his hilarious sense of humor. He was a fantastic father, a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and a best friend to all. No matter the circumstance, you'd always leave with a story of something funny or crazy that Jimmy did while you were with him. There wasn't anyone that he wouldn't engage in conversation, and he was always willing to help everyone in any situation. He was born in Bridgeport on June 15, 1966 and was the son of the late Joseph Kenneth and Mildred (Nuzzi) Roberts. Jim grew up in Milford and had a love and passion for wrestling throughout his high school years, he loved cars, motorcycles, music, photography, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He proudly enjoyed supporting his son who also decided to wrestle and was a huge supporter of their team, Platt Tech/West Haven and never missed a match. He enjoyed spending time riding his Harley Davidson with his wife alongside and going for long drives in his Corvette with the top down. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 18 years, Shelly, his loving son, Justin Michael Roberts, an Active-Duty SSgt/Firefighter in the United States Air Force, whom he was very proud of. He leaves behind his sister, Linda Borer (Al) of Milford, his brother, Joseph S. Roberts (Kelly) of Trumbull and sister Lori J. Roberts of Milford. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, John, Katie Borer, Joseph and Blake Roberts, his great nieces and nephews, Vinny, Sophia, Austyn, Hunter, Lily and Charlee, his lifelong friends Guy Barbano and June (Middleton) Sangapore and his beloved rescue dog, Molly. Family and friends may greet the family on Friday, Sept. 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Shelly & Justin,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jim. He was a great guy and so much fun to be around - I always enjoyed his company. I hope you find comfort in knowing that you will see Jim again. You're both in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Christina

I was very much thrown by this news and am having a hard time believing that Jim is gone.

We all have people in our lives that we have a lasting friendship with although we do not speak with each other, or see each other, on a regular basis. What makes us keep in contact is the delight in the conversation when catching up, and the sheer amount of laughs you can share with that person in the span of a 20 minute phone call. That was the dynamic of my relationship with Jim.

Meeting at Carling where we both worked was a blessing in my life. We became unlikely friends through mutual respect, understanding and work ethic. It saddens me that we will not be able to have our intermittent conversations or meet-ups.

RIP Jim. You are missed.
