James Michael Volpe
Deacon James Michael Volpe Jr., age 70, of Sandy Hook, CT passed away February 5, 2023 in his home. He was born in Bridgeport to the late James Michael Volpe Sr. and Lena Trovarelli Volpe. He was a deacon at St. Ambrose Church for many years. He worked as a rehabilitation counselor for the State of CT. He was an Army and Air Force veteran and an Army recruiter. Deacon James was also an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University and a religious teacher for many area high schools.
Survivors include his three daughters Jessica Volpe, Sara Manrique (Edgar), Rebecca Volpe Earl; his sister-in-law Penny Volpe Chetcuti (Steven); eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael James Volpe and his wife, Kathleen Mayo Volpe.
Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Thursday directly at St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT at 9:30 a.m. Interment following at Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery, Harvester Rd., Trumbull.
