Jane Pacelli Obituary

PACELLI Jane (Inglis) Pacelli, age 74 of Stratford and a longtime resident of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 16, 2008, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Eleanor (Bernardi) Inglis. Jane grew up in Bridgeport and attended Central High School and UConn Pharmacy School. She was a pharmacist for 50 years and was co-owner with her husband of the Greenfield Pharmacy. She was an active member of the UConn Alumni Association and cheered on the Huskies over the years, especially women's and men's hoops including the Final Fours. She could turn a stick into a flowering bush and get lost in an English novel or a good detective tale for hours. She transformed the weedy hill next to the 16th tee in her backyard into an explosion of flowery color. She savored the taste of her own cooking and the fact that her two "boys" love to cook, too. She relished soaking in the sun at Fairfield Beach, feeding who ever showed up at the cottage, listening to life stories and giving people big hugs. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard Pacelli Sr.; her loving sons, Richard Pacelli Jr. and wife, Barbara (Kohout) of Concord, N.H. and Rocco Pacelli and wife, Attorney Cheryl Carolan of Fairfield; one brother, John Inglis and wife, Eileen of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Alicia, Clare, Hilary and John; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Rocco Inglis, who is survived by his wife, Mary Ann and their daughter, Kimberly. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Pius Church, 834 Brookside Dr. Fairfield with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the "Richard and Jane Pacelli Alumni Scholarship Fund" #30982, c/o UConn Foundation, 2390 Alumni Drive Unit 3206, Storrs, CT 06269. Uncle Dick, Rick and Rocky and family,
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Jane. The memories have always been good and many came rushing back in the past day or so.
I vividly remember the "Arrow" and how excited and pleased Aunt Jane got every time ALL of us sat down to eat there. I can sill see Uncle Dick and my dad, at the end of the table wondering how this will ever work out. Too many kids, not enough food. And Aunt Jane and my mom just ordering up all that we ever needed. And the salad, damn that was a good salad!
I remember New Year's Days a plenty, Ft Lauderdale vacation and numerous other gatherings and the joy Aunt Jane brought to these and every occasion.
We wish we could be there with you today. She and all of you will be in our thoughts and prayers!

All our Love,

Anthony, Lydia, Greg, Dylan and Colin
