Janet L. Scribe, 91, of Southbury, CT, previously from Monroe, passed away on May 19, 2022 with her family at her side. Born in Elbon, PA, she married in 1958 to Andrew J. Scribe Jr., who's been waiting for her in heaven since July 2, 2017.
Janet was devout - not only in her faith but to her marriage and her family. She has shared with us a legacy of love and a true commitment to family. Janet was often the quiet force behind the scenes; selflessly doing for others and having an impact beyond measure. Her greatest joy during the latter years in her life came from her 7 grand and 11 great-grandchildren; all who will cherish time spent at family events and the yearly week-long full family vacation - a tradition cherished.
Janet is missed by her children, spouses and their families: Christine Wesche and her husband Kevin of Oxford, CT, Mark Scribe and his wife Karen of Southbury, CT and Sandie Lavoy and her husband Tim of Portland, CT. Her grandchildren: Andrea Sawicki (husband, Dave Sawicki), Matthew Scribe, Brandon Wesche (wife, Jacki Wesche), Kimberly Valenti (husband, J Valenti), Alana Piccirillo (husband, Ryan Piccirillo), Raymond Lavoy and Nathan Lavoy and her great-grandchildren.
Janet's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the team of caring professionals from The Springs & Independent Living at the Watermark at East Hill, Brightstar Care and Vitas Healthcare who provided care during the latter part of her life.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, CT 06468. Masks required. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, CT. A graveside service to immediately follow at St John's Cemetery, Moose Hill Road, Monroe, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Blessed Sacrament Church - 275 Union Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06607.
