Jean Ann Dwyer, 87, teacher of hundreds, mother of three, and wife of one, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was a native of Weymouth, Massachusetts and daughter of the late George E. and Ann (McDonald) Marchant. After graduating from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, she began a career as a teacher in Fairfield, Connecticut. There, she met and married the late John H. "Jack" Dwyer. She had a long career teaching elementary and junior high school in both Connecticut and Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her children: John H. Dwyer, Jr. (Barbara) of Louisville, Patrick S. Dwyer (Carolan) of Bridgewater, CT, and Meghan K. Rogers (Tim) of Louisville; six grandchildren, Colleen Dwyer, Jack Dwyer, Jacob Rogers, Frances Dwyer, Emma Rogers, and Deirdre Dwyer.
A Memorial Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Agnes Church, 1920 Newburg Rd., with visitation at the church at at 10:30 a.m. A family burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial gifts in Jean's memory may be given to the Nazareth Homes Foundation.
