Jean Louise Pennella

PENNELLA Jean Louise Pennella, age 75, a lifetime resident of Greenwich, entered into eternal rest with her family at her side on Friday, June 1, 2007, after a courageous fight against cancer. Born on November 30, 1931 in Greenwich to Frank and Zuzanna (Grabarz) Pietruszka, she was a graduate of Greenwich High and a lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Mrs. Pennella is survived by her beloved husband, Gelenardo Pennella of 50 years; her devoted children, Nancy (Joe) Tamburro, Susie (Gary) Hoffkins, Lori (Jim) Donlon and David (Deborah) Pennella; son-in-law, Jeff (Linda) Tipke; grandchildren, Jonathan Tipke, Kevin Tipke, Joe DiBetta, Dana Tamburro, Valerie Tamburro, Regina Tamburro, Andrew Hoffkins, Amy Hoffkins, Joe Donlon, Maggie Donlon, Elliot Pennella, and Henry Pennella; sister, Eleanor Chmelewski; brother, Henry (Charlotte) Pietruszka; sister-in-law, Vita (James) Fahey; brother-in-law, Nick Dolce; and many, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pennella was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Tipke; brother, John Pietruszka; and sisters Helen Palkin, Bertha Dolce, Florence Albrizio, and Evelyn Calabro. Viewing will be on Monday, June 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich.
