Jean Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS Bishop Jean Williams, age 73, of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. Born in Coopers, W. Va., to the late Rev. John Henry and the late Elmary Henry-Wright, was a Bridgeport resident for the past 54 years. She was the founding Bishop of Trinity Church of God and Bishop Jean Outreach Ministries, Inc. She established the BJOM Food Pantry on the East End of Bridgeport that extended its services to approximately 7,280 families since its inception. She has ordained pastors and ministers for the work of the ministry rendering spiritual oversight to many. She was a nurses' aide for approximately 15 years. For more than 26 years, her home was a licensed Day Care where she taught and cared for numerous children. She also was licensed by the Department of Mental and Retardation to provide foster care to children and adults. Survivors include her four daughters, Rev. Brenda Jackson of Charlotte, N.C., Lucye Dean and her husband, Vernon Dean, of Atlanta, Ga.,; Pastor Mary Green and her husband, Pasor Leonard Green, of Bridgeport, and Sandra R. Williams-Anderson of Pennsauken, N.J.; and one son, Retired master sergeant Christopher S. Williams Jr. of San Antonio, Texas. She was predeceased by her late husband, Christopher S. Williams Sr., and one daughter, Annette Williams-Daniels and her husband Harry L. Daniels Sr. She leaves three sisters, Edris Miller of Bluefield, W.Va., Josephine Bristow, Bridgeport, and one sister-in-law, Jean Henry of Baltimore, Md.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four god-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005, at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Deliverance Cathedral, 717 Arctic Street, Bridgeport, with Apostle A.G. Richardson officiating. Internment will follow at Mt Grove Cemetery, Easton. Arrangements entrusted to Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stratford Avenue.
