Jeanne Baklik, age 87, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, September 13, 2018. She was the devoted wife of the late John Baklik. Jeanne was born in Shelton on December 30, 1930, daughter of the late Margaret Jones Besescheck. She worked as a reading specialist in the Shelton School System for over 30 years. She was involved in the TOPS Program, the CT teachers scholarship program, and the Retired Teachers Association of CT. Jeanne loved to play pinochle at the Shelton Senior Center and swim at the Shelton Community Center.
She is the beloved mother of Christopher Baklik (Elaine) and Katherine Baklik Tiegel, cherished grandmother of John Baklik (Stephanie), Jennifer Vargas (Santos), Matthew Tiegel (Aimee), and Emily Tiegel, and great-grandmother of Jasmine, Julius, and Johnny. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Osterhoudt, Elaine Besescheck, Evelyn Guzman, and Ellen Freeman (Kevin). She was predeceased by her brother, James Besescheck.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Her funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the parlor. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
