Jerry Marin Obituary
Jerry E. Marin, age 67, of Stratford, died on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Jerry was born in Bridgeport to the late Edmond and Frances (Stanis) Marin. He was a graduate of Bunnell High School and Central Connecticut State University. Jerry was a salesman for golf course landscaping products. To say he was a golf fanatic, would be too simplistic. His life revolved around the game, whether playing it, watching it or talking about it. Golf was the greatest enjoyment in his life.
Survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Patricia and Michael Karwan of Glastonbury and Alicia George Doughtery of Trenton, N.J.; three nieces, Laura Quigley and her husband, Kevin, Amy Karwan and Sarah Karwan; four great-nieces; cousins, Dennis White, Marybeth Dennis, Linda Kissel, Ed Marin, Jim Marin and Raymond Marin; and good friend, Maureen Roosa.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. James Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 am to 10 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make contributions in his memory to either Stratford Animal Rescue, PO Box 1371, Stratford, CT 06615 or Stratford Cat Rescue, PO Box 1261, Stratford, CT 06614. I really miss Jerry. He was my running back buddy on the football team. During the season we spent a lot of time together. We would watch the clock during last period Humanities class and count down the minutes until practice. He was a hard hitting back and we had a lot of fun together. Recently, he always called to invite me over every time a friend from out of town was there. I really miss him.
