Abed Jr., John R.
John R. Abed Jr., age 84, of Mystic, formerly of Lordship passed away on Saturday December 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Agnes (May) Abed. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of John and Lucia (Quintilliano) Abed and retired from AVCO Lycoming in Stratford. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His greatest joy was enjoying his retirement years on the Mystic River with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Agnes, John is survived by his children; Joan Stefan of Stratford, Alicia McIntosh and her husband Julius of Stratford, Elizabeth Kucsera and her husband David of Seymour, John Abed and his wife Karen of Oxford and Christopher Abed of Jupiter, FL, his grandchildren Keith, Thomas and his wife Melissa, Christopher and his wife Elizabeth, Ryan and his wife Alisha, James, Zachary, Alexandria, Julie, Katherine, Marcy, Rachel, Thomas and Rileigh, two great-granddaughters Ava and Brooke and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. A funeral service with Full Military Honors will take place at 3:00 PM in the funeral home following the calling hours.
