John Bercian Obituary

BERCIAN John B. Bercian, age 85, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved husband of Mae (Bredice) Bercian, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at St. Joseph's Manor nursing facility, Trumbull. Mr. Bercian was born on June 17, 1918, in Torrington, son of the late John and Teresa Bercian, and had been a Stratford resident for the past 41 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic for Textron. He was also a life member of the Lordship Father's Club. Survivors include one son, Mark Bercian and his wife, Dianne, of Wallingford; one daughter, Pamela Bercian and her husband, Rick Bunting, of Westport; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Stratford Road, Stratford. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make contributions in his memory to either Our Lady of Peace Church Sanctuary Fund, 230 Park Boulevard, Stratford, CT 06615, or the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
