John Brooks Obituary
John R. Brooks, age 75, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Copiague, NY, on February 22, 1947, he was a son of the late Bernard and Mary (Mulholland) Brooks. Mr. Brooks earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University and was proud to have passed the CT Bar exam. He was then employed by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax attorney for over 17 years before his retirement and prior to that was self-employed. John was a huge fan of jazz music to say the least and his collection of music proves it. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Mariani Sr. and his wife Suellen of White Plains, NY and his sister, Margaret Mariani of Port St. Lucie, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his cousin, John Markham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Interment with full military honors will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am. in St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. For online condolences, please visit us at www.abriola.com

I met John when he went into a share of summer house in the Hamptons in 1973. John had a knee injury and recuperated along with Cal Carey. John and Geody became as well as all of the guys in the house. My fond memories were that John was even keeled and a friend to all. As years fly by I lost touch with John. RIP Nat Fiore
