John Oliver Obituary

OLIVER John J. Oliver, age 76, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Patricia Hanlon Oliver, died peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2004, at his home after a brief illness. Son of the late John J. and Kari Stankowicz Oliver Sr., he was born on December 22, 1927, in Milford, and had been a lifelong resident. He was a retired carpenter for the Blakeslee Construction Co. of New Haven for 30 years. Mr. Oliver is survived by nine children: Patrick, Kathleen and her husband, Don Blevins, Margaret, Michael, Timothy, Sean, Maureen and her husband, P.J. Polokoff, Terence, and Daniel and his wife, Kristine Oliver. He is also survived by his brother, David Oliver of Milford; 11 grandchildren: Robbie, Korene, Colin, Valerie, Shaine, John, Jack, Alexis, Kelly, Sarah and Nikki; and by a very special niece, Robin Rodrigue. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Dyann Chandler Oliver. Funeral service from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford, on Monday, March 22, 2004, at 8:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Milford. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405, or Milford Hospital Memorial Fund, 300 Seaside Avenue, Milford, CT 06460.
