John Penzotti Obituary

PENZOTTI John A Penzotti Sr. age 85, died peacefully in his home in Trumbull, CT on Wednesday May 9, 2012. Former resident of Bridgeport and Stratford John was an avid golfer and member of Brooklawn CC in Fairfield CT. He graduated with a BA and an MBA from Niagara University and continued further studies at State University of Buffalo. John went on to become a Senior Executive at Perkin Elmer where he led the project for Nasa's Hubbell Space Telescope. He also worked at Bell Aerosystems, Sierra Research and United Technologies. In his later retirement years, his love of golf brought him to Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, CT where he worked as a starter and a ranger for roughly 12 years. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria Scialfo Penzotti and also by his second wife Kathryn Capozzi Penzotti. He also was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters from the Buffalo- Niagara Falls area. Most recently predeceased by his son John A Penzotti Jr. who passed away on Monday May 7th. He is survived by his daughter Paula Penzotti Rubano and husband Matthew of Trumbull, CT with whom he spent his final years. His daughter Carla Penzotti and husband Craig of New Rochelle, NY, and Gina Penzotti of Sarasota Fla. His three step-children and their children Erin Macaluso and husband Matthew, grandchildren Lucca and Benjamin all of Tolland, CT, his step son David Capozzi and wife Carissa of Groton, CT and step son Daniel Capozzi and wife Rose, granddaughter Ella all of Burlington, CT. Friends may call Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 1 to 5p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with a prayer service at 3p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial Services for John Sr. and his son John Jr. will be held at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church 780 Main Street in Buffalo, NY at 9:30am On Wednesday May 16th. Additional calling hours will be at Dietrich Funeral Home 2480 Kensington Avenue in Amherst, NY. On Tuesday May 15th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery Harlem Road at Maryvale Drive in Cheektowaga, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made In John's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org.
