John Pribesh Obituary

PRIBESH John Richard Pribesh Sr., age 71, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Patricia Marzik Pribesh, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in his home. Born in Bridgeport, Mr. Pribesh was a lifelong city resident. John was a 28-year veteran of the Bridgeport Police Department, a member of the traffic division for 10 years, seven of those he served as a motorcycle officer. He retired from the police department in 1982. He was always described as a kind and gentle soul. John dedicated his life to helping others and serving his community. He was an active member of St. Ann’s parish in Bridgeport, and was a member of the Fairchild Wheeler Men’s Golf Association. In addition to his devoted wife, Patricia, Mr. Pribesh was the loving father of Michael Pribesh and his wife, Karen, of Virginia, John Pribesh Jr. and his wife, Melody, and Lisa Anne Pribesh. John was the very special grandfather of Michael, Jonathan and Megan Pribesh and Samantha Pribesh, Kristina Harter, Beth-Ann Harter and Donald Bensey; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:45 a.m. in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 1546 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, Brewster Street, Bridgeport. Committal services to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301. John was a precious blessing in our lives. We will treasure the memories he has shared with us. We love you, God bless!
