Oct. 4, 1953 - Nov. 30, 2020 Oxford, CT. John Andrew Simon, age 67, previously of Fairfield, beloved husband of Sharon (Burdette) Simon entered peaceful rest on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Smilo Cancer Center with his wife and daughter by his side. Born in Bridgeport on October 4, 1953, he was the son of the late Norbert and Mary (Glynn) Simon. He attended Fairfield schools and graduated from Andrew Warde High School Class of 1971. A retired cabinet maker, John loved to travel, ride his Harley, and build furniture. He also loved all types of music, roller coasters, and animals, especially his dogs. He enjoyed visiting local breweries, craft stores, and supporting local businesses. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife of 42 years, John leaves his loving daughter Justine Grueb and her husband James of Seymour; his sisters, Linda Shepard and her husband Daniel of Shelton, Mary Ellen Simon of Stratford, and Margaret Van Ness of Trumbull; his aunt and uncle, Linda Leary and her husband Daniel of Bonita Springs, FL; his father-in-law Robert Burdette and his wife Mimi of Sun City West, AZ and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was a devoted husband and father and was loved by all who knew him. We are all blessed to have been a part of his life. A funeral service in John's honor will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 10 a.m. with committal services directly following. Always one who loved to gather with his family and friends, it would be important to John for his family and friends to get together.
