John Stracquadanio Obituary

STRACQUADANIO John J. Stracquadanio, age 92 of Trumbull, a former dispatcher for the New York City Board of Education with 35 years of service, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his residence. Born in Jersey City, N.J. on November 18, 1917, he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Stracquadanio. Mr. Stracqua-danio was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. An avid bridge player, he never stood still and always kept himself busy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Domenica (Minnie) Codraro Stracquadanio; three children, Anthony Stracquadanio and his wife, Joan of San Francisco,Calif., Elaine Hammers and her husband, Dr. Lynwood Hammers of Trumbull and John Stracquadanio and his wife, Susan of Emerson, N.J.; a sister, Mary Minardo of Staten Island, N.Y.;, six beloved grandchildren, Jessica Hepperman, Sophie Boudart, Erika Hammers, Christopher Hammers, Travis Stracquadanio, and Evan Stracquadanio. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Friends can greet the family at a memorial gathering that will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 30 Elm St., Bridgeport, CT 06604. To light a virtual candle, visit us at www.abriola.com.
