John Tiano Obituary

TIANO John W. "Al" Tiano, age 86, of 30 Chatield Street, Derby entered into rest on Thursday, October 7, 2004 in the Bishop Wicke Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to his high school sweetheart Barbara Mongillo. He is the loving father of Barbara Jean Garofalo and her late husband Mario, Linda Coppola and her husband Salvatore and he is the brother of Alice Casiero. Mr. Tiano is the loving grandfather of Derby Mayor Marc Garofalo and his wife Margaret, Marci Quaranta and her husband Dr. Joseph, Elise Garofalo, Lt. John Coppola and Adam Coppola. Great grandfather of Emma Rose Quaranta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Anthony, Joseph, Marcello, Carmen and Eugene Tiano and his sisters Theresa Tiano and Eleanor Pucci. Friends may call on Sunday in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby from 3-7 p.m. His funeral will leave the funeral home on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 9 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. His burial with full military honors will be in Mt. St. Peter's Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the John Tiano Scholarship Fund to benefit Derby High School, c/o Webster Bank, Orange Derby Shopping Center.
