Van Duyne, John P.
John P Van Duyne Age 91 died at home comforted by family on 01/15/14. John was born in Newark, New Jersey on April 2, 1922. He moved to Connecticut in 1965 and resided in Easton until 1999, when he moved to Huntington. He graduated from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute on Dec 23, 1943, Class of 1944 BSEE. John was a WW II veteran serving in the US ARMY signal corps. and discharged May 9, 1946 as a Technical Sergeant. He was an Electrical Engineer for 40 years pioneering in electrical measurements, radio and television he ended his career with Singer as Executive Vice President of Engineering in 1984. He was an avid amateur radio operator from 1936 until recently; last call letters were W1COA. John is survived by his wife of 69 yrs, Loraine Stoller Van Duyne, a sister Ruth, three sons, five Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Respected, valued and loved, he will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Easton Congregational Church on 03/29/14 at 11 am. Please contact Peter VanDuyne at [email protected] if you would like to attend.
