John F. Vasil

VASIL John F. Vasil, age 81 of West Brookfield, Mass., passed away April 21, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Vasil was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Bertha (Dzurko) Vasil. He was a 1948 graduate of Harding High School. A longtime resident of West Brookfield, Mass., he was the proprietor of Top Hat Restaurant. Prior to this, he was a milkman in Bridgeport for many years. Johnny was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 50 years and an avid billiard player. He was affectionately known as "favorite Uncle Johnny" and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores Rose Blomberg of West Brookfield, Mass.; five devoted children, Charlotte Vasil of North Haven, Lydia Vasil Lapierre of West Brookfield, Priscilla Larchian and her husband, Dr. William A Larchian of Cleveland, Ohio, John Vasil and his wife, Jennifer of West Brookfield, Mass., and Eileen Sykes and her husband, Daniel of West Brookfield, Mass.; his brother, George Vasil of Bridgeport; his sister, Mary Ann Pcolar of Fairfield; "Poppy" to eleven grandchildren, Michael Lapierre, Will and Tess Larchian, Johnny, Mary, Maggie, Samuel, Audrey and Grace Vasil, and Danny and Bella Sykes; and many special nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 190 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
