John Zaffis Obituary

ZAFFIS John Zaffis, age 82, of Stratford, died on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Milford North Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Babbette "Babe" (Miney) Zaffis. Born in Bridgeport to the late Eleftherios and Julia (Pekerak) Zaffis, he had resided in Stratford since 1971. Mr. Zaffis was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran and was a member of V.F.W. Post 145. He was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters Union. Survivors include his three beloved children, John Zaffis and his wife, Cheryl, of Stratford, Karen Sepulveda and her husband, Miguel, of Milford and Julie Marron, of East Haven; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. Those who so desire, may make contributions in his memory to either American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897-2523 or American Diabetes Assoc., CT Affiliate, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
