Jonathan Jayne Obituary

JAYNE Mr. Jonathan Peter Jayne, age 69, of Harwinton, died Monday December 1, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jo-Ann (Siena) Jayne. Mr. Jayne was born May 11, 1939 in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Edward and Eleanore (Keyes) Jayne. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly served his country. He worked as Facilities Manager for Moore Special Tool Company for 41 years before retiring in 2001. After he retired he worked at Rumsey Hall School in Washington. Formerly of Newtown and Bethlehem, Jonathan was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the Newtown Fish and Game Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved traveling, especially to Cape Cod. He also enjoyed UCONN Basketball and Penn State Football. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Doreen Jayne-Stickney and her husband Stan of Harwinton; a son, Jonathan Jayne and his partner, Roy Yonkers of Danbury; a granddaughter, Siena Jayne-Stickney of Harwinton; a sister-in-law, Sue Jayne of Newtown; two nephews, Jeffrey Jayne and Christopher Jayne; both of Newtown; and a niece, Danielle Jayne-Fredericks of Roxbury. He was predeceased by a brother Jeffrey B. Jayne. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday December 5, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. on Thursday December 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Jonathan's memory to New Milford Hospital Cancer Center, 21 Elm St., New Milford, CT 06776.
