Jose A. "Josh" Rivera
Jose A. Rivera (Josh) age 26, of Stratford entered into eternal peace on Thursday, February 16, 2023 with his loving family at his side. Born in Bridgeport on January 30, 1997, he was the son of Paulina Marcial.
As a young boy Josh loved being in the water, either swimming or at the waterpark. He was a fun and loving child who was fascinated by dirt bikes and loved break dancing. His most favorite thing to do was play baseball wearing his #9 jersey on his Yankees T-Ball team. Throughout the rest of his life, Josh loved visits from his mom, brother and family, His smile would light up the room when he saw them. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and cousin and was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be deeply missed by all, but his spirit will live on in everyone's hearts.
In addition to his mother Paulina, survivors include a loving brother Nehemias Pettway, his grandmother, Maria "Mama" Cruz, his grandfather, Israel "Papa" Rivera, an uncle Jose Marcial, an aunt Lydia Carrasquillo and cousins Christy Marcial, Jose Marcial Jr, Myles Cox and Jenny Patron, a great cousin Mia Bella Rodriguez along with numerous family, friends and "caregivers". He was predeceased by his grandfather, Luis Anibal Marcial.
A Celebration of Josh's life will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
